T-shirt Surprise!

This arrived in the mail and I LOVE it...
Keith, of Mindless Pursuits & also, Imperfect Dichotomy, was so nice to make this for me and it's really exciting to see it in real life. It has a touch of sparkle to the ink that is perfect.

I am thinking about offering some of my work on shirts & after seeing the quality of these, it's going to be probably sooner than later.

New Work - Emergence

The cyclone ends.
The sun returns; the lofty coconut trees lift up their plumes again;
man does likewise.
The great anguish is over; joy has returned; the sea smiles like a child.

It is great fun and good for the soul.
My painting arm is now laughing again.

The Poet's Risk

I have always been on the side of the heretics,
against those who burned them,
because the heretics so often turned out to be right....
Dead, but right.

Noise reduction

when i need to get away from the paint and brushes
i love to embroider.
with each stitch
i can center my spirit...
far away from all the noise of
the world.

Buck

i live in a place where
a glance out the window might bring a surprise....
one Friday afternoon eight of these guys
were hanging together on the mountain behind my house.
then, they all bedded down on the hillside,
watching the fading light...
waiting for the night.
regal, beautiful and content.

i felt very lucky to be a quiet & hidden witness.
